Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu AlaikumWRWB

Message from the Commissioner

APPOINTMENT OF COMMISSIONER AT  AL-MADINAH SCHOOL

“On Wednesday April 10th the Ministry of Education dissolved the Board of Trustees at Al-Madinah School and appointed myself as the Commissioner for the school. Under the Education Act, a Commissioner has all the powers, functions and responsibilities of a board of trustees. In effect, a Commissioner replaces the board of trustees.

I have extensive experience in education as I was a school Principal for 28 years and then Regional Manager in Auckland for the Ministry of Education

for 11 years.

The school should continue to operate as normal and both students and staff should go about their work and carry out their duties as usual. I will work closely with the Principal, the senior managers and the Ministry of Education to address any concerns so that Al- Madinah School can continue to educate the students successfully.

The school did have the services of a Limited Statutory Manager but that intervention has also ended.

I look forward to working with Al-Madinah School.”
