NEW STAFF APPOINTMENTS
- Brother Farook Ali has been appointed as the Executive Officer, replacing Ustadh Syed Mohammed Hanif who has retired.
- Sister Sarah Landi has been appointed as a teacher in the secondary school. She is also the class teacher for Year 8 Boys.
- Sister Julekha has been appointed as a teacher in primary school.
CYBER SAFETY
Please monitor your child while they are using digital devices. Discuss with your child how to stay safe online. Please refer to the following website for information: www.netsafe.org.nz
STRANGERS APPROACHING
Please advise your child/children if they see anyone acting suspiciously around the school and offering a ride in their car, please do not go with them. Seek help from staff or other students. Try to walk in groups for safety reasons. Note the car registration number, description of the person and report the matter to the police.
COUNTIES MANUKAU SPORT
Boys Day Out – Wednesday 26th June from 9.00am – 2.00pm.
Girls Day Out – Thursday 27th June, from 9.00am – 2.00pm.
Year 5 boys and girls will be participating.
CAREER NEWS
Three students from Year 13 will be completing their five days of work experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Air New Zealand on 26th June 2019.
Three girls from Year 13 joined in Air New Zealand celebrating International Women in Engineering Day on 21st of June, 2019.
ISLAMIC WEEK
This week we are having Islamic week. Students are participating in several activities throughout the week. Programs include Quran recitation, nasheed singing, writing competitions, Islamic quiz, mufti day, sports day and shared lunch.

MUFTI DAY
Mufti day is on Friday 28th June for all students. Students can come to school in mufti clothes within Islamic perspective. Students are encouraged to bring a plate of food to share in class.
TAKING LEAVE DURING TERM TIME
Students should not be going on holiday during school term time as it is affecting their studies and assessments.
REMINDER: School Production
Al – Madinah School Boys’ production, Emperor Mustafa, will be on 1st of August at Mangere Arts Centre from 6.30-9.30pm. This is a male only event. The production is an adaptation of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare. Currently the students are doing rehearsals for the production. Tickets for the production is available in the school office for $15.00.
WINTER
It is winter season now. Thank you to the parents/caregivers for sending your child/ children with proper winter clothes. Those who do not have proper jumpers can buy from the school office. Jumpers are in stock now.
UNIFORM PURCHASE HOURS
Uniform will only be sold from Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm to 4.15pm. Parents and caregivers are advised to buy uniform only during the above hours.
LATE/ABSENCES TO SCHOOL
Students who are absent from school must bring a note to school on the day the student returns, explaining the reason for the absence. The note must show the date and parent’s signature. Unexplained or prolonged absences will be followed up as required by Ministry of Education.
For late arrivals, secondary boys and girls must get a late pass from the school office. Primary students must go to primary school staff room located in A block upstairs to get a late pass.
REMINDER
Parents/caregivers must make appointment to see the classroom teachers or the principal. They must also go to the school office first and sign the visitors register and take the visitors pass.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
Parent Teacher meeting is on Tuesday 6th August, 2019. Class teachers will share achievements, strengths and needs of your children. Children will come with their parents for the meeting and go back home with their parents. The booking will be activated by July 2nd for parents to make appointment online. Please contact your child’s class teacher or school office if you are having difficulty using the program or do not have internet access.
COMMUNICATION THROUGH NEWSLETTER
All students must bring the newsletter slip signed by the parents and pass it to their class teacher.
SCHOOL FEES
Jazaakallahu Khairan to all those parents/ caregivers who have paid their child/children’s attendance dues in full. Those who have not paid, please pay before end of term 2.
TERM 2 BREAK
The school ends for term 2 on 5th July at 2.30pm and will re-open for Term 3 on Monday 22nd July.
