END OF YEAR EXAMINATION
Years 7–10 EOY (End of Year) Examination starts from Tuesday 12 November to Monday 18 November, 2019 (Timetable attached at the back of the newsletter).
PARENTS MEETING
All parents are invited to a meeting with Bruce Adin, the Commissioner at school, on Sunday November 24th at 4pm. This is a follow up meeting held last term and is being held on a Sunday afternoon to enable parents to attend. This is your chance to hear from the Commissioner and to ask questions. We look forward to seeing you.
ICAS ENGLISH
Mashallah to the students who participated in ICAS English. Fazilat Khan Yr 11G received Credit and Fatimatuz Zahraa Yr 12G received Merit in ICAS.
SOCIAL STUDIES QUIZ
Students from Yr 9 and 10 will participate in Social Studies quiz at Mission Heights school on 11 November.

GRADUATION GOWN
Year 13 graduating students to hire the gown from Ustadha Veena at $15.00.
STAFF VACANCY – Teacher Aides
Vacancy exists for teacher aides who are expected to support teachers towards the delivery of the classroom programs. Hence if you have the qualification, experience, team work strength and are passionate for children’s education, please apply in writing to the Principal via email: principal@al-madinah.school.nz. AUCKLAND AIRPORT JOB EXPO
Auckland Airport job expo on 07 November, 2019 from 12.30pm – 14.00pm at Ara Building, 10 Uenuku Way, Auckland Airport. Students need to take their CV with them.
CROSS COUNTRY
Inter-School Cross Country competition – Year 6 boys came 2nd. Mashallah to all staff and students for your hard work.
PRIMARY SPORTS DAY
Primary students will be having sports on Thursday 5/12 /2019.
CANTEEN MENU
There is a change in school canteen menu on Tuesdays – instead of burgers now sausage sizzle will be sold – Cost $3.50.
PORTFOLIO
Students’ portfolios will be sent home by the class teachers by December 6th.
FAREWELL
Secondary Year 13 Boys farewell is on Thursday 05/12/2019 at 2.00pm and the secondary girls will be having it in the evening from 6.00pm. Year 6 farewell will be on Friday 6/12/2019. More details will be sent by the class teachers later.
SCHOOL REPORTS
School is setting up system in place in order to email students’ report to parents. We will keep posted for 2019 reports.
TEXT BOOKS AND LOCKER KEYS
All students must return the texts books and locker keys before they go on leave.
REMINDER: NCEA AND CAREERS NEWS
NCEA external exam starts on Friday 8th November, 2019.
Al-Madinah School has now become the exam centre, so all exams will take place at this school.
It is very important for all students doing exams to revise and fully prepare for the exams.
REMINDER: DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP
Digital technology workshop for years 1 – 8 students are from 18–27th November. The
workshop will be conducted by facilitators from Ministry of Education and is free for the students.
ATTENDANCE DUES (FEES) PAYMENT
Jazaakallahu Khairan to all those parents/ caregivers who have already paid their
attendances dues (fees) in full. Those who have still not paid the fees, be mindful that the
de-enrolment process will start on Monday 11th November 2019.
