Dear Parents/Caregivers                                                             Unite against COVID-19

Assalaamu alaikum wrwb

On 19 April 2020, the Prime Minister has announced, “New Zealand will move to Alert Level 3 at 11.59pm on Monday 27 April.”

The main the principles for Level 3 are:

  1. Stay home. If you are not at work, school, exercising or getting essentials, then you must be at home, the same as at Level 4.
  1. Work and learn from home if you can. We still want the vast majority of people working from home, and children and young people learning from home. At-risk students and staff should also stay at home, and they will be supported to do so.

In an educational context, the message is very clear Stay home, work and learn from home if you can. Al-Madinah School is committed to providing distance learning for its students. If you require assistance for distance learning, please contact the school teacher/s.

Please inform the school of your intentions known for next week – Whether you will be bringing your child(ren) back to school under alert level 3. It is important that we as a school know what your intentions are so that we can provide a safe environment for students and staff under the level 3 restrictions. Please complete the survey using the following link: https://forms.gle/Q9duZ4YvWuYLYauU7. This will help us be better prepared when school opens next week.

The school will be operating as of Wednesday, the 29th April, from 8:30am – 3.00pm. Please note that under Alert Level 3, Health and Safety is our main priority and this means the school will be operating with a skeleton staff. As the number of Al-Madinah School Staff and dependents fit the vulnerable category. This means that some staff will need to remain working from home. Hence your child(ren) may be taught by a different teacher.

The school will be working on its systems and processes for re-opening under Alert Level 3. We will communicate these to the parents who will need to bring their children to school next week. In the meantime, enjoy your bubble for another week with your families.

Wassalaam
