Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu AlaikumWRWB

MOVEMENT OF SECONDARY GIRLS TO ZAYED COLLEGE

The most recent ERO report noted that consideration needed to be given to increasing the educational opportunities for senior girls. Last term two meetings of parents were held to discuss options for the future structure of Al-Madinah School which could assist with that.

Several options have been considered and there have been meetings with the Senior Leadership Team, the whole staff and the Proprietors as well as with the Principals of both Zayed College and Al-Madinah School.

While no decision has yet been made, the preferred option seems to be for the Year 7 to 13 girls to attend Zayed College and not to attend Al-Madinah School. This would mean that Al-Madinah School would become a Year 1-6 primary school for boys and girls as well as a Year 7-13 secondary school for boys only.

This is an important decision which may need to be made soon and should be driven by the parents.  Therefore, we want to hear from the parents, especially the parents of the girls because they would be the most affected.

Therefore, parents are invited to attend a consultation meeting at Al-Madinah School at 6.30 pm on Thursday August 6th to further discuss this proposal.

We hope as many of you as possible can attend.

Thank you and Wassalaam
