INTER-SCHOOL SPEECH COMPETITION

Congratulations to the following AMS students who participated in the inter-school speech competition and won:

Years 5 & 6 – Primary School

Ist :  Sayeeda Sharif

2nd: Sana Rahim

3rd: Kabir Usman Khan

 

Years 7 & 8 – Intermediate School:

2nd:  Tayyibah Saheb

3rd:  Aadil Ali

Out of all schools in Mangere and Otahuhu AMS came 1st, 2nd & 3rd in years 5/6 section and 2nd & 3rd in the intermediate section.  

IMPORTANT DATES

  • 19-23 Oct : NCEA practice exam continues.
  • 9-13 Nov : EoY Exam for years 8, 9 & 10.
  • 11 Nov: NCEA Students will go on study leave.
  • 16 Nov.: NCEA Exam Starts
  • NCEA External exams will take place at AMS.

REVIEW OF CANTEEN FOOD PRICES

Due to increased cost of raw materials, we are increasing the price of food supplied by the school canteen.  From next week Tuesday 27th October, 2020 these changes will take place.  New prices are as follows:

Lunch: $4.00, Chana: $1.00 and Calcium $1.20

 KICKSTART BREAKFAST PROGRAM

Fonterra will stop providing milk to the school. However from 2021 they will provide breakfast to the needy families only.  If you are one of those please inform your child/children’s class teacher by completing the tear-off slip.

 FEEDBACK ON 2021 SCHOOLCHARTER

Questionnaire will be provided next week.

 Engineering and Robotics Day opportunity for Yr 7-9 girls and family

Kiwibots are running a free event in partnership with The UoA’s Faculty of Engineering on 1st Nov for Years 7-9 aged girls and their caregivers. A really great chance to come along and hear from a range of speakers, and do a hands on robotics workshop.  NATIONAL JORD DURING LABOUR WEEKEND

National Tabligue Jord will be held in Wellington from 7pm on coming Friday 23 October to Fajr of Monday 26 October. Male parents and their boys (15years and over) are encouraged to attend.

 REMINDER:  NITS AND LICE

We have seen some cases of nits and lice in school.  The School Health Nurse is dealing with the students.  Parents/caregivers please ensure that your child/children’s hair is washed, dried and brushed on regular basis.  Headlice can catch anyone.
