Dear Parents/Caregivers

GALA DAY

Gala Day is on Saturday 10 April, 2021 from 9.00am to 3.00pm.  Stall fees for the day is $100.00 and will be based in the new car park facing Westney Road.   If you need to hire stall please contact the school office on (09) 2755195 ext 0. You are required to bring your own tables, chairs, shades and other furniture and the grounds will be open from 8.00am for setup. Food stalls will only be put up by the school.

2021 ANNUAL NZ NATIONAL IJTIMA

National Ijtima will be held at the Airport Mosque starting from Asar (5.50pm Jama’at) – Friday 2nd April to after Fajr Sunday 4th April. Dua after Hidayat talk. All brothers are requested to attend.

 

LITERACY WEEK

Secondary School Literacy week will be from 7 April to 9 April. All students will participate in a variety of events during the week.

 

AMS SPORTS TRAINING

Boys are to continue their training during the long weekend and the school holidays.

 

Cheese Making

Year 9G have been making cheese this week as part of their food technology unit. They used vinegar as a substitute to rennet to meet the needs of their stakeholders.  Well done 9G!

 

RAMADHAN

Ramadhaan starts on 13th or 14th April depending moon sighting. Ramadhan Mubarak to all.

 

BREAKFAST PROGRAM

Breakfast in school is for all the students every day from 8:00am – 8:20am. Menu is anchor milk and wheat bix. Students who would like to have breakfast may go to the following rooms:

  • Years 1-6 in AD1-AD2
  • Secondary girls in common room in B- block
  • Secondary boys in ESOL room in B-block downstairs.

 

DENTAL SERVICES

Tooth Group will be visiting our school from 7th – 9th April.  Parents and guardians of years 9-13 were given consent forms to be completed and returned to the school office. Parents please send the completed form with your child/children by Wednesday 07/04/2021.

 

READING TOGETHER PROGRAM

This program is starting for year 1 parents of the students who are facing difficulties in reading.  Class teachers or AP for primary will contact you for more details.

 

ROBOTICS EVENT AND STEM EXPO

The above event runs from 9.00am – 4.00pm both Saturday and Sundays during the Easter Weekend at the Vodafone Event Centre.   Teachers, students, parents and friends may visit and try out the VEX GO and VEX IQ robots to see if it’s something you might like to have at your school or part of your STEM club.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

The school will be closed for Easter from Friday 2nd April to Tuesday 6th April. The school re-opens on Wednesday 7th April.

TERM BREAK

The school finishes for Term 1 on Friday 16th April at 2.30pm.    School re-opens for Term 2 on Monday 3rd May, 2021.
