SECONDARY SCHOOL ATHLETICS
We had a very successful athletics day in week 5. Jazaakallahu Khairan to all the students and staff for your effort and dedication in the afternoon training sessions and your commitment on the day. Masha Allah and congratulations to the winning house in girls which was Uhud and for boys was Badr.
COUNTIES MANUKAU ZONAL ATHLETICS
This will be held on Thursday 18th March in Papakura. The following boys will be representing the school in the Counties Manukau Zone.

Auckland Rugby Coaching
Auckland Rugby is taking coaching sessions with year 7-13 girls every Thursday from weeks 6-9. These coaching sessions encourage skill development and participation in sports. All students are to participate and must bring their P.E gear every Thursday. We will be ending the programme with a Hui in school. More details to follow.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
This will be held on Tuesday 23 March, 2021 from 8.30am – 5.00pm. You will need to book in appointments once the booking is open via www.schoolinterviews.co.nz//code and enter the code. All parents must make time and come on this day. The booking will be open today by 5.00pm. Event Code is: j5pg7.
SLEEPOVER CAMP AT KELLY TARLTONS
Year 3 Hub students are going for the above camp on 31st March and coming back on 1st April. Year 4 Hub students are going on 29th March and coming back on 30th March. The premises will be occupied by Al-Madinah School teachers, students and parent helpers for the camp. No public will be in the premises inside. More details will be sent by the class teachers.
2021 ANNUAL NZ NATIONAL IJTIMA
This will be held at Airport Mosque starting from Asar (5.50pm Jama’at) – Friday 2nd April to Fajr Sunday 4th April. All brothers are requested to attend.
TRIP TO MUSEUM
The school will have the following Social Science school trips to Auckland Museum: on 25/03/21 for Y7/8Girls, 7/04/21 for Y7/8Boys, 7/04/21 for Y9/10Boys and 8/04/21 for Y9/10Girls. This is part of our study of New Zealand History and Culture.
GALA DAY
Gala Day is on Saturday 10 April, 2021 from 9.00am to 3.00pm. Stall fees for the day is $100.00. If you need to hire stall please contact the school office on (09) 2755195 ext 0. You are required to bring your own tables, chairs, shades and other furniture if you are putting up a stall. Stalls will be based in the new visitor’s car park next to the school facing Westney Road. Food stalls will only be put up by the school.
2021 KIWI COMPETITION
2021 Kiwi Competition in English/Maths/Science for those students who want to take part is $9.50 per subject. Students can discuss with class/subjects teachers for participation.
INFORMATION FOR LEARNERS, PARENTS AND WHANAU
On 19 September 2019 the Prime Minister and Minister of Education announced that Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories will be taught in all the schools and Kura from 2022 onwards. We would like to hear your views on the draft curriculum content. The Ministry of Education will be promoting public feedback through multiple channels. Public engagement on the draft curriculum content will run until 31 May 2021. More information and an online survey for feedback are available at www.education.govt.nz/aotearoanzhistories
