Dear Parents/Caregivers

Stranger ALERT – POLICE Notice
A suspicious person in a vehicle has been seen around House Park Council carpark opposite our new carpark. Both students and staff of Al-Madinah School & Zayed College has been put on alert. The matter has been reported to the NZ Police who are dealing with it. Therefore, as part of security measure please ensure your child/children are dropped and picked on time.
Use of New Car Park: Some parents are parking on drop off zone. For safety of all students we need this area clear so other parents can use this space too.
A number of parents are seen dropping and picking up their child/children in front of the main gate and in no parking zone hence creating traffic hazard. If anyone is seen doing wrong parking or drop-off, their registration number will be given to the traffic warden for further action.

NITS and LICE
It has come to our attention that there may be cases of nits/lice in the school. We request all parents to check their child/children’s hair. Our school nurse has been informed as well. Please also check and talk to your child about general hygiene, daily showers, clean uniform and undergarments, clean, short finger nails and other day to day hygiene practices.
WINTER UNIFORM
It is fairly cold in the mornings. All students are to come to school wearing school jumpers and jackets. Good to see most students dressed well with school jackets and jumpers. There are still some students not wearing these despite the cold weather. Few students have been coming to school with no jumper and or jackets. This may be very detrimental to their health. Parents will be asked to bring the warm clothing to school if their child/children are in school without appropriate warm clothing.
TOILET USE
We are focusing on all students using school toilets correctly and leaving the toilets clean and tidy after use. We are seeking support from parents and care-givers. Please talk to your child/children in regards to this topic.

Dealing WITH SCHOOL MATTERS.
Parents are asked not to discuss school matters with teachers at the school gate as they have to be alert while on security measures. Parents can send messages and/or make appointments to meet with teachers at an appropriate time. Parents are reminded to contact class teachers first when seeking help or complaints around their child. If matters does not get sorted then contact AP and Principal.
