TERM 1 – 2024
Welcome back to all the staff and students. Special welcome to all the new students, their parents & caregivers and staff. Jazaakallahu Khairan to all the parents/caregivers for sending your child/children well prepared for school. All students are required to label all the stationery, uniform, bags, pencil case etc.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY
The school will be closed for Waitangi Day holidays tomorrow Tuesday 6th February.
REMINDER: ATTENDANCE DUES
This school is a state-integrated school and hence paying attendance dues (AD) is compulsory and is a condition of enrolment. The Annual AD is $251.85 per student. The full years AD must be paid by end of Term 2 of each year. AD statement may be sent every month as a reminder.
UNIFORM
A high standard of dress and grooming is always required. No jewellery or cosmetics are to be worn. To ensure uniformity prevails, all uniform including school scarves and sunhat must be purchased from this school. Complete uniform is sold at the school. No outside stitched uniform will be accepted. Uniform including school shoes will be checked on regular basis.
Uniform purchase hours
Uniform will only be sold from Monday to Friday starting from 3.30pm to 4.00pm.
Parents and caregivers are requested to come during the above hours.
PLEASE NOTE UNIFORM WILL NOT BE SOLD IN THE MORNINGS.
SCHOOL HOURS
All parents/caregivers are requested to ensure their child/children arrive ON TIME. Children who come late to school on a regular basis will face consequences accordingly. Children are to be at the school by no later than 8.20am and picked up no later than 3.45pm from Monday to Thursday and 2.30pm on Fridays.
DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
Parents/caregivers are requested to drop-off and pick-up their child/children outside the school gate. School car park is available next to the school where parents can park easily and/or drop-off and pick-up their children.
Please DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE ENTRY AND EXIT GATES.
EARLY PICK-UP
Parents are requested to make appointment outside school hours. For unavoidable urgent appointments within school hours, please bring the appointment letter. There should be a genuine/good reason to pick-up your child/children during the day as they miss out on important learning.
PEDESTRIAN ENTRY
There is a buzzer at the pedestrian gate. Any visitor using the pedestrian entry must press the buzzer for the gate to open from the reception. Upon hearing the buzzer, push the gate to open or pull from inside while exiting.
ZUHAR/JUMMAH SALAH TIME AT AMS
Mon – Thurs 1.40pm – 2.00pm
Fridays – Jummah from 1.40pm – 2.15pm
Parents/caregivers are advised NOT to pick-up their child/children during the above times. If there is any urgent appointment during these timing, please pick them up before salah.
YEARS 11 – 13 SUBJECT CHOICES
All students have chosen or are in the process of choosing their subjects for the year. Parents must check/discuss the subjects taken by their child/children to be fully informed about the child’s course of study and eventually their career path.

- NCEA Level 1 (Year 11) – 75.9%,
- NCEA Level 2 (Year 12) – 100.0%,
- NCEA Level 3 (Year 13) – 88.9%

2023 external exams reviews and reconsideration.
Due date – 18-02-2024.
Reviews Cost – free
Reconsideration cost $20.40. Fees waived for those students whose parents are on work and income/study link benefit. Application forms are on the NZQA website. For detailed information, students can visit NZQA online.
Year 10 students will be sitting for NCEA co-requisite in literacy (reading and writing) and numeracy at the end of the year for a total of 20 credits. Parents must encourage and support their children to achieve these credits. More information will be shared later.

Parents/caregivers are requested to inform the office as soon as your contact details
changes (e.g. address, phone contact, email address. etc).
SCHOOL LUNCHES
The school canteen provides healthy lunches to the students. Lunches can be ordered daily through the classroom teachers by 8.45am.
The canteen also sells Calcium, Muesli bar, greens peas, peanut and soft chana.
