 TERM 4

Welcome back to all the staff and students.

NCEA AND CAREERS NEWS

  1. NCEA (Years 11-13) students will be on study leave from Tuesday 5th November 2019.
  2. NCEA external exam starts on Friday 8th  November, 2019.
  3. Al-Madinah School (AMS) has now become the exam centre, so all exams will take place at this school.
  4. It is very important for all students doing external exams to revise and fully prepare for the internal exams.  All students to be regular to school to have consistency in their lessons and preparations for assessments and exams.

SUBJECT CHOICES FOR 2020  – Years 11-13

The subject information booklet and option form have been shared with students through the careers google classroom.  Students are to discuss the 2020 subject options with their parents.  Those parents who need support and guidance for their child’s subject options can make an appointment online with the careers co-ordinator for Wednesday 23rd October 2019 anytime from 9.30am to 5.00pm.  You can book appointments via website:  www.schoolinterviews.co.nz//code.  The code for this event is:  52qnx.  Enter the code and follow the instructions on the screenBooking will be open from this afternoon.

 SMILE DENTAL

Smile Dental caravan will be in school from Tuesday 22 October till Friday 25 October.  They will be providing dental services to years 9 – 13 students.  Consent form have been given to the students. Parents are requested to complete the form and send it back to your child’s class teacher.

 ASSESSMENTS FOR PRIMARY STUDENTS

Years 3-6 students will be doing online NZCER assessments from week 2 – 6 in Literacy and Numeracy.  All years 1-6 students will also be assessed by class teachers in reading, writing and maths.

 STUDENT ATTENDANCE & LATENESS

Student attendance is very important.  Students miss important lessons and assessments if they are not regular to school.

Those students, who are late, must go to the school office and get the late pass.

 DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP

Digital technology workshop for years 1 – 8 students are from 18–27th November.  The workshop will be conducted by facilitators from Ministry of Education and is free for the students.

  Key Competency for this term is “doing our best for taking all challenges”.

 EXCURSION

Team 2 will be going for camp at Kelly Tartons Year 4 will be going on 29th October and year 3 on 30th October.

 PICKING-UP AFTER SCHOOL

After school all primary students who are waiting for their transport must wait in the corridor of year 1 hub and AD3. Only year 1 hub students can wait in the main office if they are picked after 3:45pm.

SCHOOL FEES

Jazaakallahu Khairan to all those parents/ caregivers who have paid the fees in full.  Those who have still not paid please pay immediately.
