IFTAARI

Jazaakallahu Khairan to all the parents/

caregivers for their attendance, support  and contribution in cash or kind towards the girls and boys iftaari.

EID HOLIDAY

The new moon for Eid-Ul-Fitr will be sighted on Wednesday 12th May.  If the moon is sighted then Eid will be celebrated on Thursday 13th otherwise it will be celebrated on Friday 14th May.   Please note that the School will be closed on day of Eid.

ROAD WORKS

Downer will return to do resurfacing works along Westney Road, Mangere.  These works are scheduled to start on Wednesday 12 May 2021 for approximately 4 Nights. Works will take place at night between 7pm and 5am.   Parking restrictions will be in place during this time.

TOD (Teacher Only Day)

Years 7 to 13 students are NOT required to come to  school on Thursday 13 May and Friday 14 May due to Eid and NCEA TOD.

REMINDER

Read Together Programme continues for mothers from Monday 10th and 17th May.

BULLYING FREE NZ WEEK 2021

Anti-bullying week will take place from Monday 17th May to Friday 21st May.  This week is all about encouraging people to take the lead, spread the word and make a change.  Get students to talk about bullying and ways to end it.

PINK SHIRT DAY

To support us rally against bullying in Aotearoa on Friday 21st May, students can wear something pink.

NETBALL COMPETITION

Years 5 and 6 girls are having netball competition on 18th May at Bader Drive.

Islamic Week

Islamic week will be from 24-28 May. More details will be sent later.

SPEECH COMPETITION

Congratulations and Mashaallah to Rima Akter of Y12G who represented AMS in the National Semi-final of the Race Unity speech competition at MIT Marae.

SCHOOL FEES

Please note that the whole year’s attendance dues must be paid by or before end of term 2.   Jazaakallahu Khairan to those parents who have already paid their child/children’s attendance dues.  Those who have not paid please do so before the end of Term 2.

CHEQUE

The school will not accept any cheque payments as the bank is now in the process of stopping the use of cheque paymentThey prefer online banking.
