Dear Parents/Caregivers

Assalaamu Alaikum WRWB

TERM 2

Welcome to Term 2. Special welcome to the new students who joined in Term 2. This Term is very important. Students must be regular to school. There will be ongoing NCEA and other assessments throughout the term.

NCEA TEACHER ONLY DAY (TOD)

NCEA TOD is on Monday 1st May 2023.    The school will be closed for all students from Years 1 – 13.

Islamic WEEK

Islamic week will be celebrated next week. There will be various activities including competitions within the following: Nasheed, Quiz, Islamic Skits/plays, Qur’aan Hifz and Tajweed, Azan, etc. Winners will be given prizes and certificates.

Mufti day will be on Friday where students will be allowed to wear Islamic dresses instead of school uniform. Students can also bring a plate of food to share in class.

SPORTS CHANGING ROOM

The new changing room for the students is now ready to use.

FRUITS IN SCHOOL

Fruits will be available in school from next week, Monday 1st May.

KICK START BREAKFAST

All students are encouraged to have breakfast (a bowl of Milk and Weet-Bix) in school.

HUNGERBALL

We have the HUNGERBALL arena in our school this term until week 4. HUNGERBALL (Hia Pōro) is an award-winning concept developed in New Zealand that captures the energy, imagination, and inclusive values inherent in street games. Within the six sides of the inflatable HUNGERBALL arena, all ages and abilities can have the opportunity to participate in variations of the game – such as football, hockey, and other ball games – while embracing a healthy competitive spirit that encourages camaraderie, teamwork, and communication.

REMINDERS

ATTENDANCE DUES

All attendance dues must be paid by or before end of this term.  The annual attendance dues for each child per year is $251.85.

A statement will be sent this week via email.

PICK-UP AFTER SCHOOL

All students must be picked-up on time after school at 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday and 2.30pm on Fridays.  Please note that there will be no staff on duty after 3.45pm. Those students who are not picked up on time will need to wait in front of Rooms AD1 – AD3.

SUN HATS

School sunhats are now available at the school office. These will be sold for $15.00 each.

Winter Jackets are also available in school.  Please purchase after school if you need one.
