Careers

Plan for your present and the future

Careers education at Al-Madinah School helps students to plan and manage their learning and career pathways.

Careers education helps students develop self- awareness, explore learning opportunities in and out of school, explore employment opportunities, make and adjust plans and to take appropriate actions.

The school invites representatives from various institutions and mainly from University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology, The University of Otago, Unitec, Manukau Institute of Technology, Whitcliff, Victoria University and Massey University to talk about their programmes and entry requirements.

Students get the opportunity to visit open days and participate in experience days in various tertiary organisations. They visit Careers expo to get more information from the providers about courses, entry requirements and apprenticeships.

Every year students in years 10, 11 and 12 are provided with course information booklet to make their subject decisions at key transition points.
